Paint And Stain Combo On Furniture

When my friend showed up at my home with this Art Deco Dry Bar… my jaw literally dropped! All that glorious wood really needed to be front and center. It wasn’t until I started sanding on the top that I discovered the wood veneer’s real beauty, and there was not a thing wrong with it. Refinishing the wood veneer is possible as long as it’s in good condition and you have the right tool to get the job done.

You gotta see this paint and stain combo I did on art decor bar.

SUPPLY LIST:

Staining The Wood

After sanding/stripping off the old varnish and stain, I cleaned the wood well with a mixture of denatured alcohol and water. A 50/50 cocktail, as I call it. NOT for human consumption… the good stuff is in the house.

I used dark walnut gel stain over the wood to make all that wood grain really stand out. It’s all about the wood with this makeover, and it’s what I wanted the eyes to be drawn to. Eye candy!

Whenever possible, I love to add a stain and paint combo to my furniture transformations. The before and after is truly amazing.

Painting The Wood Classic Black

Classic black… there’s no other option when you’re making a masculine statement, in my honest opinion. So Caviar it is! This is my favorite paint and stain combo for furniture.

My favorite paint and stain combo on furniture is dark walnut and black caviar. It's so rich!

Paint And Stain Combo That Works

The choice to stain the front door was significant with this piece since it houses all the goodies. Doesn’t it make you want to open it??? Exactly!

Everything about this makeover is masculine, dark, and moody as it should. The richness of the dark wood paired with black caviar makes this Art Decor Dry Bar a showpiece. Don’t you agree? Let me know what you think in the comment section, and don’t forget to share this post for future reference. You know… just in case you need little paint and stain inspiration later. 😉

Cheers! 🥂 xo, Do
