Below is a full supply list to help you find the products that I used with this makeover. Simply click on the products in the list if you need help finding where to purchase.
Cleaning and prep:
- Laminate Furniture
- Gloves (for protection)
- Sanding Pad (abrasives for scuff sanding) or Electric Sander (Use my code DOIT10 to get a 10% discount)
- White Lightning (powerful cleaner to remove dirt and grime)
- Paper Towels
- Synthetic Paint Brush (good quality) not that cheap stuff!
- SLICK STICK (this is the product that gives your slick surfaces something to hang on to… AKA paint)
- Tack Cloth
Painting The Laminate:
- Caviar (black chalk mineral paint)
- Spray Mist Bottle for water
- Painter’s Tape (gentle release)
- Satin Clear Coat or Gator Hide (to seal paint and wood)
Bondo Repair For Large Holes:
- Bondo Body Filler or Wood Filler (use caution when using this product. (Use these products in a well-ventilated area and wear a mask to protect your lungs)
- Paper plate (disposable)
- Stir sticks – Craft sticks or tongue depressors. HA! 🙂
- Shellac / also comes in a spray (to seal the Bondo before painting)
Creating MCM Designs:
- String
- pencil
Additional Hardware Installation:
- Hardware Brushed Brass Cabinet Pulls
- Hairpin Legs 16 inch
- Drill and drill bits
- Right Angle Drill Attachment (for tight spaces)
It’s important to understand that everyone’s finish will be different. No two finishes will look the same. Be patient with yourself and go over each step of the video as you begin. I learn better from repetition and having a video to replay and review can be very helpful.
